Description
Xinomavro, the famous variety of the Amyntaio vineyard, is grown in the vine called Stavros (= Cross) at an altitude of 645m. The south orientation, the northern winds and the red sandy-clay soil make up the unique terroir of Amyntaio. Clear ruby red colour with maroon hues, notes of tomato, and wild strawberry. Complex bouquet of dried plums, cherry, with an aftertaste of spieces and vanilla. Soft tannins, with a long finish. It matures in new, French, oak barrels for 26 months, followed by aging in 6 months in the bottle. Ideal for aging. Decanting before drinking is recommended.
Excellent pair for grilled meat, game, and high-fat cheeses.
