Description
In 2006, the weather was unstable, but generally warm and dry. Despite the heat of July, August was chill and moist. Summer-like September helped in the harvest, as it dried out the botrytis and favored the ripening of the grapes more than usual. The harvest began on September 11 and lasted nearly four weeks.
The first impression is the softness of a pure, airy, and bright bouquet. Floral and fruity aromas unfold on the nose, and soon give their place to caramel fruit, straw, and tobacco notes, with a hint of iris.
“The luxury of a structured, juicy, and round wine dominates the mouth.” As it opens out on the palate, it becomes more complex and angular, more silky than creamy. “The finish leaves a magnificent bitterness accompanied by a touch of salty sea breeze.”
