Description
It belongs to the Vins de Liqueurs category and is the most popular wine of Samos. It’s the No. 1 sweet wine in sales in Greece and it’s exported worldwide. It comes from semi-mountainous and mountainous terraces. It has a light golden colour, and the nose is dominated by aromas of apricot jam and mature melon.
As a typical dessert wine, it is best served after meal at 8-10 oC. It can be paired with light desserts in texture and colour, such as apple pie, lemon pie, fruit tarts, as well as with more creamy desserts. It can be also served before meal as an aperitif or during relaxing afternoons with fruit, cheese, or nuts. It is the best companion of ripe melon and an excellent match for desserts, cheeses, fresh or dried fruit.
